short on sass

I don't know how to break this to you, but I've been a little short on sass recently. Sassy Leah has taken the backseat and Serious Leah is in the driver's seat. I don't know what this means for my blog, but let's be honest, it's probably better for my soul.

I don't want to leave you without SOMETHING. After all, you faithful readers are the reason I stay in business over here at Gibbizarre. So...

1 - I never followed up about the gluten free lasagna! It was a HIT. By the way, this reminds me that you should be very careful if you ever give me a compliment; my ego reacts very strongly to compliments (ahem, especially if they have something to do w/ this blog). So, if my small group was telling the truth, then the GF lasagna was the bomb.com, and if they were lying, then they sure boosted my ego. "A flattering tongue works ruin..."

2 - We had Matt's whole accounting department over to our house on Saturday for a BBQ! It was quite fun, and served as a motivator for me to FINALLY do some things to our house that I've been wanting to do since we moved in 2 years ago (like fill some empty wall space and rearrange some furniture). Perhaps all this hosting is more evidence that I'm growing up?

3 - Some of you know that until about December, Matt had literally eaten the SAME lunch every single weekday since college. He started to get tired of it, and we've been trying different things ever since then.

Well, we FINALLY found something that is quick and easy and healthy for him to take to work. SALAD. Before you start thinking it's gross, let me say it's not your typical salad. We have started grilling chicken or beef on Sunday, cutting up all kinds of veggies, and buying sunflower seeds/almonds/other toppings. So all he has to do in the morning is put the leafy greens in a to-go bowl, add his veggies and chicken or beef, add his dressing, and go.

I am hoping that this trend will stick for awhile. (Cause his alternative to not having a good lunch is just to skip it altogether.)

Why "Awesome Alert" and "Gibbizarre?"

Where did I get the title "Gibbizarre?"

Simple. I combined our gangsta name, "Gibbizzle" with the word "bizarre." And there it is. This was originally a temporary name, but somehow it grew on me, and now "we" are stuck with it.

And why the description, "Awesome Alert?"

Do I really need to explain this?

Probably.

While one might be led to believe that "we" chose that description because "we" think "our" blog is awesome, I assure you that is not how we came up with the name.

Matt likes to say, "Awesome Alert," whenever he thinks something is cool. So, for instance, if he sold a house, he would probably hold up his hand for a high five, while simultaneously exclaiming, "Awesome Alert!" I literally put less than one minute into deciding on that description.

Nevertheless, in reference to the fact that I advertise my blog to anyone who may or may not be interested, Matt has accused me of being a "shameless self-promoter." So take it for what it's worth.

For some reason the pictures I've uploaded for my blog header keep turning out to be larger than life. So until I can figure that one out, those of you who come to my blog will just get some major face time with your favorite DINKs.

the two become one

I've decided to merge my "Leah only" blog with my "Leah and Matt together" blog. Now those of you who subscribe to both will only need to subscribe to one, and I won't have to keep feeling like I live a double life.

Of course I don't live a double life, but it was beginning to feel that way since the content, tone, and writing styles of the two blogs are almost entirely different. Only time will tell how this plays out.
