Liya

So, yesterday I got an iced passion tea at Starbucks, and I noticed on my cup that the barista spelled my name 'Liya.' For Real? "Liya?" I am going to pay particular attention to the way I pronounce my name from now on... there is no "y." But still.

Next, what is wrong with this picture? Yesterday I walked pass a girl who was talking on her cell phone during a smoke break. I overheard her explaining to the person on the other end of the phone that she avoids sun tanning because she doesn't want skin cancer. Now, I'm not judging, but I am wondering... is lung cancer preferable to skin cancer?

Also, yesterday I was feeding Henry a snack outside in a busy shopping area, and a bird started to approach me. I have come a long way in the bird department, and don't really freak out about them the way that I used to. Nevertheless... I was absolutely certain that this bird would not actually continue to approach me. Surely, I thought, he would stop or back off eventually. Well, he didn't. As I was feeding Henry his snack, the bird inched closer and closer to me... more like a begging dog at the dinner table than a bird, but whatever. So, for the most part I was keeping my cool, and just calmly saying, "Go away, bird." But he just got closer until the ONLY thing standing between me and this bird was Henry's diaper bag. What would he do? I kid you not, this bird started FLYING ABOVE HENRY'S DIAPER BAG LIKE HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO SNATCH THAT SNACK RIGHT OUT OF MY HAND! I screamed out loud and burst out of my seat as fast as I could! And lots of people heard me. One sweet girl even came up to the bird and pointed her finger at it telling it to go away. I seriously can't believe how bold that bird was being. He's lucky my first reaction was to run and not to swat him down.

Lastly, as of today, my hair is DARK again, which, if you are Matt equates to "we've been spending way too much time discussing your hair today." Nevertheless, our discussion continues here... It's pretty close to my natural brown color because I am sick of highlighting, and just want my "virgin hair" back. I'll save you the details and say that I couldn't get into my normal girl cause she was all booked, but I was desperate, so I went to a dude who had way less experience, and he did a decent job, except for the fact that my roots were reddish. So he had to tone them down and now the top part of my hair is darker than the bottom part, but you can't really tell... but I can tell. Anyway, they still look decent - I just have to get used to looking at myself w/ dark hair. Basically, I just look a little whiter... which is hard because my skin is already PRETTY white to begin with.

Blog readers, thank you for letting me share the meaningless and silly surface-level details of my days with you. My most recent blog material may make you question whether or not there is any depth to my daily life at all. I assure you, there is depth. But thanks for listening to the shallow. :)

Was you bird encounter at the outlet mall? They are really bold at the outlet mall. I made a post about them once and had pictures to prove how bold they were.

They once spelled my name "Alysson" at Starbucks with a German umlaut (that pair of dots) above the y... maybe the go out of their way to spell incorrectly to entertain themselves sometimes :)

Which is worse, a bird or a roach?
