Yeah SO... crazy awesome house stuff!

Oh my goodness! We have had a crazy whirlwind of a weekend. :) Our original goal was to have the house on the market by Thursday, but the painters couldn't make it out till Thursday.  I was a little bummed because they didn't finish on Thursday, they finished on Friday like around 6 PM.  Yeah, so later than we planned.  But I kept reminding myself that we felt CONFIDENT of the Lord's leading to new neighborhood, and therefore we ought to trust that He was going to sell our house and we need not worry about timing.

That being said... on Friday, the in-laws took our children all afternoon so we could get the house ready... we worked, worked, worked- took pictures, cleaned, finished yardwork, cleaned, rearranged furniture, staged the house, replaced front door hardware, fixed kitchen sink hardware, cleaned, cleaned and cleaned.  By 8PM when it was time to pick the kids up, we were not finished... so we took kids to my dad's house (cause they couldn't sleep in paint fumes), put them to sleep there, and came BACK over to our house to finish.

By 2 AM we were FINALLY in the car, finished, headed back to my dad's house to post pictures (iPhone pictures at that) and go active on the MLS.  (Fortunately, Matt had already started the listing so we weren't writing the whole thing at 2AM.)  By 3AM we were all finished loading pics, etc. and we went to sleep!!

We came back to the house to hang a couple of pictures and put a lockbox on around 9:30 AM.  (Lockboxes cannot be opened at 2AM for safety reasons, so we weren't able to put lockbox on the night before.)  At 9:45AM, we get our first call from realtor, who was coming at 10:30... so we spent the next 45 minutes (with our kids in the house) FURIOUSLY doing dumb stuff like sweeping the driveway....

The realtor and people in her car showed up 5 minutes early (my kind of people), and I was sweeping the driveway (our kids were loaded in running car), and Matt literally grabbed the broom out of my hand, stuck it in the back of the car, and we got in and drove off--- later finding out that Matt had left his key to the front door IN the lock.  Way to go babe. :)  Anyway...

The same realtor called back a little later to ask if they could see the house again (and to ask a couple of questions), and by 3 PM (note: TWELVE HOURS AFTER WE LISTED HOUSE), we had a FULL PRICE OFFER.  Pretty sure Matt cried.

We had about five showings in the first two days, but God wanted to keep me humble and remind me that HE was doing this, and it wasn't our awesome real-estate skills that brought us an offer (and therefore even with all the showings, only one turned into an offer).

By Sunday night we got all the details of the contract worked out, and now we are officially PENDING.  Every detail of this whole thing has been perfect-- from close dates to everything.

I could share so many of those little details, but I think this is long enough already.  Right now, I am thanking God for giving us a clear-calling.  Soon I will post pictures of new house!

Congrats, awesome that all the work paid off so quickly. I'm willing to bet the sweeping of the driveway is what clinched that offer. Way to go Slim!
